My life · Chapter 2

Sunday lunches at grandma's

Sour cherry pies, cottage cheese palacsinta, and loud debates.

My childhood memories come in two kinds. On one side, my parents' fights, which thankfully ended once they realized they just didn't fit.

On the loving side, my grandpa and especially my grandma, my angel until she passed away during COVID. I'll never forget the Sunday lunches and the debates around the table: grandpa, me, my brother and sometimes my father, while grandma made sour cherry pies and palacsinta, Hungarian crepes filled with cottage cheese. No Michelin-star chef can beat those flavors. They're engraved in my taste buds and my heart forever. Grandma was one of my biggest fans.
